The Arrogants You’ve Always Known When Best To Say Goodbye
Letterbox Records

Article written by Paul M
May 31, 2006.

If the Arrogants from Huntington Beach have an overwhelming feeling of self worth as their name suggests, they have hardly forced themselves upon us, the music loving populace. They formed nine years ago and have only just got around to recording an album. Even then they’ve not exactly rammed the product down our throats, preferring to release it on their own label initially and purchasable on-line only. Fortunately Letterbox Records in the UK have now obtained the rights to push it here in Europe, and good thing too, as this bulging release really does deserve to be heard by as wide an audience as possible.

Comprising one 23 track CD and a DVD of earlier deleted material and documentary, all for the goofy low price of £7, it’s also a remarkably chaff-free collection. It’s a veritable Aladdin’s cave of female fronted indie-pop styles; one minute, ethereal and shimmering, another bouncy and melodic, the next cute and twee, with lush harmonies oozing out of every groove. If you’ve ever been a fan of the Sarah Label, Mazzy Star, the Sundays, Dressy Bessy, the Cranberries or modern Swedish girlpop, it’ll be like a big pink bow on your lovely bonnet.

Thoroughly recommended and obtainable via Paypal from the link below.
