Performance would doubtless be hugely popular had they been around in 1982. Unfortunately, it's almost 2006, so things are a slightly tougher for them. Surrender is a no nonsense three and a half minute electronic romp. In fact, at some points there is a little too much electo-noodling for its own good, but despite this it hangs together very well. The vocals are delivered with a Robert Smith level of distress, and the breathy female backing vocals contrast well. A good starting point to spring an electronica revival. They're a sight to be seen live as well.
