Single Review

Le Sport Business Girls / I Comes Before U
Songs I Wish I Had Written

Article written by Tom B
Nov 12, 2005.

Swedish outfit Le Sport's second single carries on in the vein of their debut Tell No One About Tonight with its happy go lucky take on pop tunes inspired by 1980's electronica. It's actually a double a-side featuring Business Girls and I Comes Before U. The latter is more than inspired by the Pet Shop Boys in their prime whilst the former opens like New Order making their way down moodily to the dance floor. And staying there.

There is a remix of both tracks on the single too. In its cat5 guise Business Girls is far more accesible and danceable than the unmixed version whilst the Ben Morris remix of I Becomes Before Uswaps the Pet Shop Boys for the Human League.

Not many releases bring a smile to the face quite as freely as this one does and Le Sport would certainly bring a bit of class to those fast approaching yuletide office parties.

Limited to 200 copies on the new formed Songs I Wish I Had Written label, you can buy it direct from the label. You can also download MP3s of both tracks from the band's website.
