Envelopes It is the Law
Psychotic Reactions 7" (ltd to 800)

Currently residing in North Yorkshire to record an album, but of Swedish/French stock, the Envelopes have produced the Feel Woozy hit of the Summer. First plays of these three tracks leave you racing to the turntable to check the fan belt as the discordant pitch changing sounds wobble out. Has the sound engineer dropped an acid tab in his Eccles cake? Luckily once you realise it’s deliberate, you relax and appreciate the fab Devo and Os Mutantes playing New Order jarring electro chiming of It Is The Law, the plodding girly cuteness of Audrey in the Country and the Apples in Stereo psychedelic fuzziness of Glue. Wonderfully disconcerting stuff.
