The Magic Numbers
Hymn For Her/ Oh Sister
Heavenly 7”

The first release from a band gathering critical momentum, and not a little hype, this is a limited edition single sold at gigs and through some independent record shops. ‘Hymn For Her’ is sweet and tinkling folk-rock, growing from a Chris Bell-type delicate acoustic number to a more complex, Flaming Lips style climax. By contrast, the woozy trumpets on ‘Oh Sister’ add a mildly psychedelic feel to the song’s overall 70s soft rock sound. Both songs suggest that Romeo Stoddard and friends merit our careful attention in future.
